How do I enroll?
Consult A Doctor provides you with two ways to enroll. You can either call Member Support at 1-877-DOC-CONSULT and enroll over the phone, or you can click here to enroll online.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes. Excluding dependants or secondary members, the primary member/accountholder must be 18 years of age or older. A guardian may conduct a consultation on behalf of an underage dependant as long as they are listed on the account.
I have a pre-existing condition. Will I still be accepted by Consult A Doctor?
Yes. Consult A Doctor accepts all patients regardless of a pre-existing condition! We will never deny quality healthcare to anyone. Additionally, members with pre-existing conditions pay the same monthly membership fee and consult fees as everyone else.
What is an On Call Tele-Consult?
Consult A Doctor allows you to simply pick up a phone and get connected to a licensed Consult A Doctor physician within minutes. Simply pick the phone, dial the toll free number and get connected to a doctor within minutes. The On Call Service should be utilized when you are seeking information on medical conditions, want advice or recommendations for common conditions.
What is a Priority Tele-Consult?
If you need to talk a doctor within 1 hour (guaranteed within 3 hours) for an in-depth, comprehensive consultation, you can request a Priority Tele-Consult. A Consult A Doctor physician will review your Medical Assessment and History Questionnaire prior to the consult, and provide advice, treatment recommendations, including prescription medication when appropriate. What is a Tele-Consult by Appointment?
If you are requesting an in-depth, comprehensive consultation at a specific time that is convenient for you, you can request a Tele-Consult By Appointment. What is a Consult A Doctor Secure E-mail Medical Consultation?
As a member you have access to E-Mail Medical Consultations (E-Consults), where you can communicate with a doctor via our secure messaging system. Consult A Doctor’s secure E-Mail Medical Consultation allows you to simply logon to your member account and communicate with a doctor via our secure messaging system. Members can send a secure e-mail to our doctors from the comfort of their own home or office at a time that suits them. No waiting rooms, no receptionists, just a direct line to a friendly doctor.
Can I get a consultation after hours or on weekends/holidays?
Yes. Consult A Doctor’s physicians are available 24/7/365.
Why should I use Consult A Doctor instead of seeing my doctor?

How do I request a consultation ?
After registering, members can access our physicians either by visiting www.consultadr.com and logging into their account to email a doctor or schedule a consult or simply by calling 877-DOC-CONSULT to be connected to a doctor on call. Our members can speak with a doctor as much as they want! There are no limits on type of consults of frequency of use!
How do I reschedule a Tele-Consult By Appointment?
You can reschedule a Tele-Consult By Appointment anytime simply by calling our Member Services at 877-DOC-CONSULT. Your payment will remain in our system as a credit to for a Tele-Consult By Appointment at a future date.
Can members get prescriptions from a Consult A Doctor physician?
Yes. Our Physicians are only able to prescribe non-controlled substances with the Tele-Consult By Appointment or Priority Services and can electronically submit prescriptions to your local pharmacy or have them shipped directly to you!
Are there any limitations as to what can be prescribed?
A Consult A Doctor physician has the ability (if medically appropriate) to prescribe a wide range of products. These include, but are not limited to, drugs such as antibiotics, antihistamines and maintenance medicines. Our physicians do not prescribe medications regulated by the Drug Enforcement Agency or those that pose a potential for abuse or addiction. And, Consult A Doctor physicians do not prescribe lifestyle drugs.
How are prescriptions filled?
If the consulting physician determines the treatment plan includes prescription medication, the physician can either send the prescription to your local pharmacy 24/7/365 (subject to the pharmacy hours of operation), or ship them directly to you with your choice of next day, 2-day or 3-day service via our mail order pharmacy. Next day shipments require the Tele-consult be completed prior 3pm.
Are there any limits on what the consulting physician can prescribe?
Our physicians can only prescribe non-controlled medications after a telephone medical consultation (Tele-Consult) and reviewing your medical history and evaluating symptoms, conditions, and allergies. If you wish to have maintenance/long-term medications filled by Consult A Doctor, more than once within a four month period, our physicians will need you to fax your most recent medical records or fill out a medical records release form (MRRF).
What are Consult A Doctor’s Physician qualifications?
We utilize several methods and resources when confirming the certifications of our providers. We hold our providers to the highest standards by putting each prospective provider through a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process. Our credentialing process includes the National Committee for Quality Assurance, background checks, research any disciplinary actions through the AMA and the Provider’s respective State Board of Medicine.
We use standards that meet national guidelines. We have a recruitment and credentialing department that does nothing but credential and recruit on an ongoing basis. We have very strict guidelines and quality assurance that include a medical director and medical compliance department that review post consultations and have terminated both patients and physicians for not meeting the guidelines and standards set forth.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel at any time by calling our Member Support at 1-877-DOC-CONSULT or logging into your account online.
Can I return prescriptions once ordered?
No. For health and security reasons, once the package has been opened the mail-order pharmacy is unable to accept returned medications. You may send an un-opened package back to the pharmacy using the designated address on the package label. If the medication was obtained through a local pharmacy, you will need to check the return policy for that particular pharmacy.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept personal and corporate checks and all major credit cards, AMEX, VISA, MASTERCARD, and DISCOVER.
Do you accept insurance?
No. We do not accept insurance at this time. We do, however, provide you with official receipts that can be used for reimbursements from your health insurance or Health Savings Account (HSA).
Are groups/employers plans available through Consult A Doctor?
Yes. Employers and other Groups can join for as low as 10 cents a day for each member. No wonder Consult A Doctor’s Group Membership is a favorite with human resource/benefit managers and other groups who make it a standard part of their employee benefits program.
